Ruling:
Two complainants alleged
that the accused assaulted them to encourage repayment of drug debts. The accused
were members of gang whose primary purpose was criminal activity from drug
dealing, stolen property, and other means of criminal
livelihood The jury found the five accused
guilty of all charges on 12-count indictment charging that they committed
various weapons offences and crimes of violence. The accused, [REDACTED], was
sentenced to four years imprisonment, which amounted to time served in
pre-trial custody. The accused [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] were sentenced to 12
years, the accused [REDACTED] was sentenced to 15 years, and the accused James [REDACTED],
was sentenced to 24 years imprisonment.
